The man behind the work

An economist with a wide view of nationhood.

Born on 27 April 1940 in Benin City, Professor Osagie built a distinguished life around learning, teaching and thoughtful public service. His academic interests in international economics and monetary theory became a foundation for a career concerned with the real choices nations make.

At home, he shares that journey with his wife, Ame, their children and grandchildren. This archive honours both the public scholar and the family man: rigorous in thought, generous in counsel and deeply invested in the generations after him.
